Hi all, hopefully someone with some knowledge may be able to throw some guidance on electric Windows and sun roof intermittently not operating, at first they had no power to open then after a long drive they worked, now they don't want to close, again no power to them. Is their a relay/ thermal cut out hidden somewhere,I've felt up behind glove box without luck, the relay box in engine bay behind fuel filter has relays and 4 fuses but I'm not sure about those, help please,Wooly.
Ps,forgot to mention its a 1994 model, and no I don't want to scrap it ta!

have a listen inside the car while you operate the switches, if they come back to life you may be able to hear the clicking of the relays.
Usually they are located in the lower kick panels (by your feet when sat in the drivers and passenger seats)

Thanks, have looked at these relays but they appear to cut power to other sources not the windows. Apparently there may be a thermal fuse in this area as well but im bugged if i can find it.I did hear a click last time i tried closing windows but that was the last bit of life in them i heard, of coarse ive got nothing at present unless they decide to jump into life again, cars, who'd have em!
I checked that there was power to the 30amp metal fuse up under bonnet near windscreen and that the fuse had continuity but still no relays there either.
Wooly.
Ps,nice motor ch.

Thanks, all you can do with this type of fault is to try and find a wiring diagram and do some testing at the switches for power etc
sounds like a dodgy connection if they decide to work now and again

Removed drivers side foot rest against door pillar and found more relays plus 60 amp fuse/thermal perhaps. Pulled fuse and cleaned off corrosion no luck yet, dismantled 3 relays on that board triggers small one manually and managed to close passenger window, still no luck yet with drivers side. Got power to and through 60 amp fuse and power to various spades on power window/sun roof module, gonna buy new module and cross fingers.Wooly.

All sorted, new window /sun roof control module bought and fitted down by door pillar, £207 still cheaper than another car.
