Help with motorcycle please!

Some rather nice person has tried to `borrow` my xjr1300. They managed to break the steering lock which isn`t a problem but now when ever I turn the handlebars even very slightly from centre to the right right the damn thing just cuts out, have checked the wiring, the throttle cable but still no joy, HELP PLEASE!

Hello there.sorry to hear about your bike,I have had pinched last week from Budapest on my way home from Russia.it sounds like a fault with the barrel or STop switch.so I would remove the ignition switch letting it dangle and with free play in the cable , try again .if its the same try this with the stop switch.my thinking Is that in trying to steal the bike they have damaged the wiring and moving the bars exacerbates matters.let me know .cheers.rob
