Zafira door won't open

Four year old grandaughter, little sweetheart that she is, tried to open d.i.l's rear door from outside at exactly the moment the electric plipper was pressed. Result is the door's stuck and can't be opened from either inside or outside. You can hear it lock and unlock on the plipper, just won't open on the handle.

Tried opening the window and removing the door card but I think the door has to be open to take off the card, can't get the window winder off either.

Any ideas or suggestions please?

Remove window rubbers, get a wire coat hanger and start fishing!

The door card will come off with door closed (not the easiest job, but possible)

Fixed it. Seems it's a common problem with Zafiras, Astras, Merivas etc. And it's an electrical problem, nothing to do with the locking mechanism at all.

There's a loom that goes into the bottom of each door for the central locking and deadlock setting and the cables inside are notoriously prone to breaking. So just a case of unplugging the connector at the bottom of the B pillar and soldering in a short new piece of cable, plug it back in and Robert is indeed your father's brother.

Of course I took the door card off before I found that out so now got a couple of hours work to put it back together.
