Probably because of the emotional annus horribilis of the last year (as some on here know), I wasn’t thinking clearly on Friday & put 15l of diesel into my old 2003 tip run Peugeot Partner 2.0 HDI. It ran fine the 15 miles home, but this morning? Not so much!
Sorry to hear about your horrible anus. Keep the bog roll in the fridge, lay off the curry and it will get better. I promise.

Remember back when people were buying vegetable oil and chucking it in their diesels? I remember that some were doing it with the PSA 2.0 HDi and would add petrol to reduce viscosity. No idea on the long term aspects but I suspect that your van will never remind you of this fuelling faux pas.

Without reading all of this thread, many people overreact when misfuelling occurs.

Of course the manufacturers and dealers will only advocated instant fuel system and engine replacement and that the petrol WILL have affected lubricity etc etc.

The fact is that if you have misfuelled by a small amount, then it is very unlikely to have caused any harm. The best measure is to get the AA/RAC/Misfuel company out to drain the system for £200 plus the cost of a tank of fuel. If you've only put in single digit litres then dilute and change the fuel filter at your earliest.

If this doesn't work then you might need a new engine and "most" insurance policies will cover misfuelling.
