Something to watch out for over the next few nights if we get clear skies.

As we have no "astronomy" section, this is where I tend to post space related stuff.

I saw 2 in 10 minutes at around 10.30pm last night. The weather forecast isn't so good for the next few days, although it may clear up tonight.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/7935773/P...

Pretty much overcast here (East Herts) at the moment so not holding my breath. If it does clear a bit I'll head out to the fields later.
Last night was clear in Hampshire between about midnight and 1 while I was out, but no activity. Rumour is that tomorrow night / early hours of Friday is supposed to be the best for viewing. But any night clear in the UK is a bonus during these events.itsnotarace said:
Captured these a couple of years ago. Went out specifically to capture Perseids but failed miserably to get a single shot with a Perseid in!
Camber Sands, East Sussex btw
Don't know what camera you have but I have been informed that setting the white balance to tungsten helps reduce the dreaded oroange bloom in canon dslr's.Camber Sands, East Sussex btw
cheers,
Mo.
RTE Radio will have a feature on the Perseids within the next 90 minutes with their science and space correspondent, Leo Enright. Enright is actually one of the best space media people around and was an excellent reporter on the early Shuttle missions back in the 80s.
