This video from EA is interesting, covering in detail both RFA and ISAR from Germany:
RFA's first test at the Shetland launch facility didn't go so well. Will be interesting to see what the results of the investigation are, but maybe the comment in the video above about the problems of "hot oxygen" might turn out to be prophetic
The key takeaway from that video is that this stuff is now (in theory) achievable at sensible budget scale, using available technology and (in RFA's case, at least) a refreshing approach to tech selection and tolerancing.
