A much discussed phenomenon on the Advanced driving forum. But this article reckons there may be no such ting. I'll have to read it again at least twice to follow it properly. But what I think the argument is saying is that it's an artifact of the way the statistics of 'being crap' and 'knowing how crap you are' are represented. Maybe it's just that everyone tends to estimate their ability at about the same rather than low ability people inflating their scores and high ability ones knocking a bit off. But if so it's a pretty subtle difference.
