Yeah it’s been up on the morning for a while I think?

Now shifting to late evening viewing for the rest of July?

I’m sure Eric will be along shortly.

I wasn't really aware of it. Thanks for the heads up.

For reasons I won't go into, I was up at 3.00 am this morning and the sky was beautiful - with Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, a waning moon and, an hour later, Venus, all ranged in a line across the sky.

I saw it last night at about 23:00 - really easy naked eye comet and it was even visible looking out of the bedroom window! Low in the North, take a line along the handle of The Plough, take it through the "pot" and down to the horizon, it's about 1/2 way along that. Great looking comet, it's like one kids draw rather than just a fuzzy blob!

Saw it last night, during a brief break in the clouds while driving home, pretty spectacular. Weather forecast isn't great for the rest of the week, but I'm hoping for another lucky break.

Eric should appreciate this.

Great pic. Are they noctilucent clouds also?

They are indeed. (Not my pic by the way, just someone I follow on twitter)

Friday night looks good for viewing viewing weather wise in the UK.

It's getting closer but also of course less evaporating as it moves away from the sun.

It's still close to the horizon but the Big Dipper points it out .

Would be good to see some photos on here by PH folk

I think I just invented "evaporatting" as a means of comets losing mass ! Which reminds me, I need to water my plants .....

It's time.

My daughter of 18 years has never seen one.

We are both out there tonight. I encouraged her by saying her 24x Camera that is good for bird photo's will be crap compared to dad's Sony

Hell if all else fails we will try and see some of the moons of Jupiter on my Nikon 12x50 binoculars. She's not seen those either.

Kids !

Light rain and clouds predicted here in Dublin, hope you all have better weather.

Only 6800 years before we see this particular comet again.

Just watching it here from the South of England. It is faint but it is visible with the naked eye - right now.
