After Sunday dinner I went outside for a cigarette, Mother joined me as we were having a conversation. I was happily waffling until Mumsy interrupted me saying "Look at that!" Nudged me, and I saw some of it. A thing came from the sky at an angle of perhaps 70 degrees, it looked hot. When it got closer to the ground it turned into three pieces, I think, and they looked even hotter, not quite white hot but almost there. It wasn't like a firework, they aren't quite as fun looking! It looked like if it landed it would be on our farm, but I work many hours and won't be able to go and look.
Did we see something fall from space?

Saw a post on the Retford facebook group about something similar, so very possibly.

I saw a meteor recently, I got home and googled sightings because it was so big. Turned out a professional photographer managed to catch it by pure luck!
It’s worth reporting what you saw to see if it ties in with anyone else seeing the same

This is the one I saw, including the photo taken

How quickly was it travelling? If it zipped across the sky it was probably a meteor. If it traveled more sedately it might have been a re-entering satellite or piece of space junk.
