trying to help my nephew out with a question he's got stuck on his homework but can't understand it myself,
show that the area of a field F can be expressed in terms of X by the quadratic equation F=3X - 2X squared. Can anyone enlighten me?

Odd one, I suppose if you think of the sides of the field being of length X and 3-2X then the solutions for the quadratic equation for a given area means you know the length of the sides of the field.

If the area cannot be negative then F has to lie between 0 and 1.125
