Beautiful view of the moon tonight. Shame it isn't tomorrow.
It has a reddish shade to it too.
That's due to dust in our atmosphere - a bit like the red sun you sometimes see at sunset. It has a reddish shade to it too.
The eclipse may also be red tomorrow - also due to dust in our atmosphere but generated in a slightly different way. Sunlight leaking around the limb of the earth is turned red by our atmosphere and the red light casts a reddish hue onto the eclipsed surface of the moon. I've seen this a few times and it is very weird.
I'm watching it live on the internet instead - in German.
