SpinLaunch is aiming for a per-launch price below $500,000, which would be much lower than a launch with the cheapest rockets, targeting 2022 as a first-launch date.

Still no wiser. Is the satellite flung into space at 17,500 mph when still within the earth's atmosphere?

If so, what prevents it from burning up?

That's the problem. Nobody knows yet !

I suspect a single stage rocket + payload gets spun up by electric motor in a donut shaped vacuum tube. Not a clue how fast the rocket would leave the tube......Would 5,000 mph be feasible?

If they can't explain how it works, I won't be investing!
