Infographic on the planned Chinese space station - of course how much of this is accurate is unknown, but they have been talking of a new station for a while now...

They already have launched two space stations, I thought.

didn't one come crashing back only the other week?

They all come back eventually.

China has launched two space stations so far, Taingong 1 and Tiangong 2. Tiangong 1 re-entered and burned up just over a week ago. Taingong 2 is still orbiting and as far was we know is still active, although not inhabited at the moment.

The Tiangong stations are broadly similar to the early Soviet Salyut and Almaz space stations of the early to mid 1970s.

They need to get their Long March 5 rocket running properly first.

I don't doubt that they will have the resources to do that, the space station also fulfills a geopolitical role in that once in place China will be inviting many different countries to join the programme.

This assumes that it gets into space before a Bigelow commercial space station launched by BFR flys.

I'm sure they have the resources to make the Long March 5 work. They've only launched one so far and it failed. They need at least one successful launch before they commit to putting a high profile and important payload on board.
