Any sensor expert?

Hello!

If a sensor can detect 0-2000ppm of a substance, let's say oxygen and the response time is eg 1sec, what is the maximum amount of that substance that is 'processed' in that sensor per second?

Is it possible to calculate that?

I am no expert (I have a bit of experience specifying & commissioning various sensors on chemical plants) but it will depend on the principle the sensor uses.

Most sensors in my experience need significantly less material than is flowing across them, but I doubt the amount 'processed' could be calculated.
