Fast radio bursts are a bit of puzzle but are unlikely to be aliens, but this is interesting anyway. Astronomers closing in on source of mysterious fast radio bursts

Every week there is an "aliens discovered" headline.

Only for a much more low key "Ahem, it wasn't aliens" headline to be announced a few weeks later.

Yes, and given the vastness of the distances involved, even a tiny amount of precession or relative movement through space would make many of these, single events from our perspective.
