I looks like Doris has been busy. As I was getting into my car last night in the office car park (open air, private and surrounded by high walls and a multistory) I noticed an odd looking fat raindrop on the drivers door. On closer inspection it turned out to be a single frogspawn egg. I looked around the car and found a couple more, looked on the surrounding cars and found a few (not many) more. I collected a couple and took them home. One is now residing in a cup of puddle water in my garage.

I might have assumed that maybe it was thrown up onto my car on the way to work (I commute via some lovely rural b roads) however, at least one of the other cars they were on travels via a completely different route with no overlap what so ever. Consequently I can only conclude it fell out of the sky during the sleet shower we had yesterday in Wilmslow.

I have read about this sort of thing before but I never expected to be in my own Fortean Times type story. I can only assume the winds have picked these little chaps up and transported them. The funny thing is, we came across a puddle of frogspawn two weeks ago in the lake district and Iwas surprised to see it this early in the year, if I hadn't have come across this I probably not have made the connection to what I found.

Oh noes. It's growing in my garage. I'd better not let the dog in there in case it tries to body snatch him ( it couldn't make him smell any worse).

I think I read/saw once that crows, buzzards and the like will predate frogs and toads, which can then lead to spawn being dropped from the sky.... Same reason for those reports of exploding toads a few years ago too. (Although I stand to be corrected).
