Googled Vger... Pretty good premise for a plot! Pretty cool too..
Amazing what life other countries can eek out of satellites once their host nation has deemed them 'beyond economical station keeping' or 'past service life' or 'somewhat out of fuel'... Skynet (which i deal with) and India are one such example...
During teaching i always roll out http://stuffin.space for a visual on just how many satellites (and debris) there is in space surrounding earth... amazing we get stuff up there in the first place... The only other thing thats more unbelievable is the amount of nukes that have been launched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLCF7vPanrY
