Not strictly a science topic, however I thought it might interest some of you chaps. It's a reproduction of the original Apollo 11 flight plan.

Apologies if it's in the wrong section, but thought it would get the greater audience who would be interested in it.

This interests me more than my wallet wants it to.

Oh great, PH has suckered me into backing two Kickstarter projects in one day (the other being Tales from Quality Control).

That is seriously cool, in a gloriously nerdy way.

They could at least get the right era NASA titles on the front cover.

You know that old saw about "if you can't find anything nice to say..." Eric?

That.

Isn't the bottom right logo the one from the time?

That would be the most appropriate cover - yes.

The "worm" was introduced in the mid 1970s as they geared up for the Shuttle programme. By the end of the 1980s they were beginning to associate the "worm" logo with bad times (i.e. the Challenger accident) so decided to revive the older style logo as it was a reminder of better times.

I like the globe logo best too.

The originals were rather less grandiose -

I often put these files on as "background music". If you get any that include the "Flight Director's Loopp" they are even more interesting. Here's the one for Apollo 13 - available through you tube -
