These new "compressed" Sure anti-perspirant bottles
Discussion
First world problem, I'll openly admit it right here at the start, but it's been bugging me and I need answers!
'Sure' anti-perspirant bottles have recently been nerfed in size from 250ml to 125ml, but the ads reckon you still get the same amount as it's now "compressed". Naturally the price has largely remained the same. Now I don't claim to be an expert in such matters and could be completely wrong, but surely it doesn't matter how "compressed" it is, if one can says it has 250ml of stuff in it and the other says it has only 125ml of stuff in it, then you're only getting half the amount of stuff for the same price?
There must be some scientific explanation for it which will surely prove me wrong otherwise it's got to be the most blatant case of false advertising ever, no?

Technically it doesn't say how much stuff is in it, it states the physical volume of the can is 250ml or 125ml.The kid in the youtube video linked seems reasonably conclusive in showing that you don't get the same amount.
Perhaps the active ingredients are more concentrated, so you only need to spray half as much on.
But of course people will put the same amount on as usual, and simply run out sooner, and go back and buy more, thereby increasing sales.
It is the same as when visitors, used to Happy Shopper handwash, encounter Molton Brown. They spludge just as much on, and leave the bowl full of bubbles...
FWIW I tried the Lynx compressed version, and it was rubbish. I smelled like a polecat after 48 hours...

250ml/125ml is volume of the can, you need to know the pressure to know what the uncompressed volume of the contents.
Apparently (according to very quick Google) Deodorant cans run at between 50 and 100psi, (not very much)
Assuming the 250ml can is 100psi it contains about 1.7ltrs of "stuff"
The 125ml can needs to be at 200psi to have the same contents.
Anyone hacked an empty can in half to see if its any thicker than the regular can?
I suppose you could empty both into inverted, sealed bell jars and sue Sure if they aren't equal :-)
FWIW, I have a 15ltr dive tank by my desk that's at 300bar (4350psi) "ish" because compression gets abit funny after 275bar, that's 4500ltrs- Whale spec Deodorant :-)
