Doggerland

Thanks to another topic earlier today, an unknown to me land mass known as Doggerland - just 10,000 years ago.



According to this feature, there was a substantial land-bridge between Britain and continental Europe until 6,000 years ago. Maybe helps puts the Somerset floods into perspective?

The story as related on R4 this morning was that the inhabitants of Doggerland were wiped out by a tidal wave from a lump of Norway that fell into the sea. 'Act of god'.
