Surprised there doesn't seem to be any chatter about this new series yet?

13 episodes starting on National Geogpraphic Sunday 16th of March at 7pm.

http://natgeotv.com/uk/cosmos-a-spacetime-odyssey

"Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey is a follow-up to Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which was presented by Carl Sagan. The new series' presenter will be Neil deGrasse Tyson. The executive producers are Seth MacFarlane and Ann Druyan, Sagan's widow."

There was a while ago when it was first announced.

Pity it won't get a big TV audience in the UK - unless it eventually gets shown on a more mainstream channel.

Or they put 'celebs' in it, and the viewers can vote one off each week.

I'm up for that if the show is filmed in outer space and the 'celebs' are shoved out the hatch sans spacesuit.

Feed them into the ion drive engines surely? Use them as fuel...

Watched it on Monday, think it was great, it was a little 'staccato' in trying to cram everything in but it was the first episode, really looking forward to seeing the show run properly. Apparently they had good viewing figures so fingers crossed it survives a full season.

It does on Nat Geo and Fox but I'm guessing people are watching torrents from the USA?

Neil deGrasse Tyson is great, not so well known in the UK I think.

He does a weekly podcast 'StarTalk Radio' where he discusses physics and answers questions. It's always interesting and a lot of fun, well recommended.

A lot of them are filmed an appear on YT, such as: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STYkyQsYFnY

The Creationists in Oklahoma have 'accidently' edited out the word 'Evolution' from their broadcast of the new Cosmos series in the US.

Episode 2 was great again, however I still feel it's a little staccato and lacks detail, maybe the episodes should just be a little longer.

How does it compare to the original? I've just been rewatching it and it's good stuff, although Sagan's presentation style is a little idiosyncratic! hehe I must get a copy for the niece as she's science-bonkers just now.
