The Minoans had hot water and sewer pipes around 5000 years ago.
The Curved ware people started Stonehenge over 5000 years ago, as was Newgrange and Skara Brae.
The city of Göbekli Tepe may have started construction around 12,000 years ago.
Many places, the British Isles included had people able to construct megalithic constructions, some possibly as astronomical observatories. I think chopping up a few tress was within their capability.

So after wondering what 1832 has to do with anything I popped one into google, seems saws may be several thousand years old.
Fascinating to think that the bloody things have been getting blunt and annoying their users for that long.
The one in the picture still seems a bit uneroded for four thousand years though. Amazingly clean cutlines.
I wish I was close enough to explore that beach though, that lost forest is fascinating.
