For example. My OHs Aunt is into all the alternative therapies. She is forever going on about this magic plant, that magic treatment and she works as a reflexologist.
I don't like the idea of other people being conned by all this crap so there is only so much lip biting I can do but when I do speak out I usually get grief for it and get made to look like the nasty one picking on the Aunt.
Which is a bit annoying as they all think she is mental but just wont say it to her.
When Sheldon does it on the Big Bang Theory they all find it hilarious

You just have to learn to accept that she is bat st mental and deal with it. My best mates mum is a homeopathist and a believer in many swivel eyed fallacies reported by well known fantasists.
My method of dealing with it is to get involved, discuss it, try to apply logic and reason, be diplomatic and try to see things from her point of view. Sometimes she is willing to relent, other times I am better off smiling, nodding and agreeing.
If she is mental, she is mental. May as well get some entertainment out of it rather than stressing yourself out

If people start talking to me about these things, I will tell them what I think as a response. My SIL and her mum like homeopathy. They extolled the virtue of this vial of something, and after a while I had a look, and noticed it was homeopathy. I told them what I thought.
Not many folk like to be told.

My OH is a doctor and used to go to have reflexology regularly. I'm sceptical but she seemed to like it. Don't get her started on homeopathy though, she's in agreement with most people who think that's, to quote Sheldon, complete hokum I don't like the idea of other people being conned by all this crap so there is only so much lip biting I can do but when I do speak out I usually get grief for it and get made to look like the nasty one picking on the Aunt.
