Anyone else see this last night on BBC4? Was quite an interesting program.

On further inspection, I can see that it originally aired in 2009. Must have missed it then. smile

iPlayer link is below for those that missed it this time:

It's been shown many times on Discovery, National Geographic etc.

I thought it was part of a series.

A good programme overall and nice to see it was one where Armstrong was happy to contribute.

Yes, I do believe it is part of a series.

Have no access to any of the channels above (if they are all Sky based) so haven't seen it before.

Was really interesting and as you say, was good to see Armstrong talking about things. A bit of a rarity that. smile

Not necesarilly Sky based. I have a Virgin Media package which allows me to see Discovery etc.

Some of these programmes are on youtube now. Have a look for "Moon Machines" and "NASA's Greatest Missions".

The collapsing TV studio roof panels actually happened during the Apollo 4 launch - the first test flight of the full thre-stage rocket. By the time Apollo 8 came along they'd fitted sound-suppresing measures to cut down the noise.

I liked the comment in the narration that, at launch, there are only three people allowed within a three mile radius - and they're sitting on top of the thing.

Also liked the shot of Armstrong with the ukulele!
