There's so much stuff now online about science and engineering it's sometimes difficult to find the really good and interesting bits. So how about a specific thread that links to particular info/pages that people found fascinating?

So, starter for 10: It's not often the letters "DIY" are found prefacing the words "Scanning Electron Microscope"

Hat off to him to make a electron microscope in the garage! Tad more complicated project than a volcano for school project in the garage.

With 3d printer coming into mass market things going to be interesting in DIY engineering and science. Love the reading of using grapheme and the laser from a cd player, possible for supper capacitor will be interesting to name a few usage. http://phys.org/news/2013-01-source-d-robot-diy-fa...

Great website for upto date information.

Periodic Videos - Lots of chemistry and experiments.
EEVblog - More pulling apart electronic stuff
Veritasium - Physics
W2AEW - Electronics and Amateur radio

Cool devices. I built one when I was an undergrad.

Lots more info about them on this site;
