Ive just been shown this by someone:

http://www.opposingviews.com/i/politics/foreign-po...

Now, I did A level physics but the whole idea of how this is supposed to work just goes right over my head! I didnt think these sorts of things were posible, but then quantum stuff is really freaky anyway isnt it?

I suspect that it's a viral for some computer game TBH. Whilst the theory is sound the fact it ignores the person behind it and shows what's behind the person in perfect light conditions - what's under the prone figure would be in darkness for example - suggests a hoax to me.

I tried to design a small cube with internal mirrors so you could see straight 'through' it from all sides...

There is probably a theorum that would say if it's possible or not.

Sure as it's only 'bending' the image from behind the person, the photograph of the woman standing near to a wall would have her own shadow projected on the front of her, not a completely cleanly lit wall?

Hmmm.....

Surely the most interesting bit in there is not only that it bends visible light but also that it defeats IR so it's also "bending" other parts of the spectrum as well.

I really want to call billy-bullst on this one but theres not really much evidence either way at this point except unnamed sources, some dodgy photochops and a Daily Mail story.

Which is good sign.

For a company with this level of technology their website seems a little behind the times.

Not disbelieving the theory quite yet, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't some photoshopping going on in the photos.

Not necessarily. It could just offer an IR barrier, like conventional IR camo. e.g. http://www.geiger-international.com/portal/content...

Not only is the website a bit naff, but the English is rubbish. Certainly not what you'd expect of a technical company.

Smacks more than a little of the Steorn free energy claim from a few years ago.

On their site, each picture has a caption...

This is mock-up of our "Quantum Stealth" (Light Bending) material with my assistant behind it. No cameras and no projectors are used. These photos are to show the Media the concept, for security issues we can not show the actual technology. With the real material - you would only see about 5% of the shadow on her and the ground as we've determined a 95% reduction of shadow in testing.
Translation: These are purely photoshops to give an impression that we have invented a fantastic new technology. We cannot show you the real thing as it clearly doesn't exist and we're taking the gullible media along for a ride.

I know how to make it and what it involves... I cant tell you the exact details on how its done, but Im looking for £100 million in non returnable funding for a 1% share in my company.

This is the next level of stealth Im offering you here.

I'm in! Where do I send my bag of 10,000,000,000 1p pieces?
