Where are all the robots?
Discussion
I seem to have been promised a world full of robots when I was a kid, in the future. I guess there are plenty of robots hidden away in car factories etc but it really annoys me that they aren't stacking shelves, delivering the post, tidying up my house. Come on you clever people, get some robots out there, it'll be great fun and save people doing mindless jobs.
I love the look of the robotic lawn mowers, but don't have enough garden to justify one Not heard of the robotic vacuum cleaner though, can it climb stairs?
There's a lot more robots around than think, modern airliners use a puny human for takeoff but can fly to thier destination, land and taxi on thier own. The military are using a huge amount of robotic systems from unmanned aircraft (I believe Global Hawk is allowed to fly in commercial airspace) to bomb disposal robots to remote weapon stations. Some cars can now parallel park themselves, and google have got an autonomous car licenced in the US.
Oh and the UK MoD have a system called Skynet...

Our dog has bonded with ours and delights in setting it off so he can play with it. In the middle of the bd night.
My cat was st scared of it. Had one when I moved into a new apartment in the states, and the bugger would go straight to the top of his carpet tower and just watch it...mondeoman said:
I found him whilst staring at the picture in my office for ages. People kept wandering in and asking what I was doing, we ended up with about five of us trying to find him.Once you see the little bugger he is quite obvious...
This one's quite good and more than a little scary..think what this might be with a few more years development!
