stars and planets

Been wondering recently what is the point/reason there are possibly an infinate number of stars/suns, planets and other stuff out there, do they all serve a purpose?
There is a an infinite number of possibilities of stars etc and that is slightly different to what you suggest. They really do serve a purpose though, every single one of them.
They are there as a result of huge probabilities amassing in areas of space and the only way to resolve these 'lumps' of probability is to form something tangible.
They effectively smooth out the probability maths and result in lumps of mass/energy.
That is the Cosmos.

No offence intended, and matt[bleeding]nunn not withstanding: that is not a science question, it is a philosophical question, here is not really the place. Perhaps the board needs a "Philosophy!?" sub-forum.Gassing Station | Science! | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
