The last minute of today ...
Discussion
I can't see another post on this topic (which surprises me) ... so here goes ...
The last minute of today (23:59 - 00:00) will have 61 seconds in order to adjust for some variations in the earth's rotation (wobbles).
Some background here.
Also surprised I couldn't see anything on the BBC site.
Cheers,
Eric

It was mentioned on R4 sometime in the day or so, can't remember when.
Nope GMT all year, then the sun is at its zenith at noon (or thereabouts) as it should be, however this argument crops up time and time again on here and no-one ever concedes the point so I'd suggest that we "let it lie".Einion Yrth said:
Currently, against my will and every fibre of my being we are required to use BST at this point in the year
