Well, You can see why scientists struggle to catch the public imagination with that lot! Reminds me of something I read some time ago when American scientists went to congress for funding for a bigger accelerator ( fermilab successor ? ) , they put forward the case that it would find the missing piece from the " general theory " , it got turned down and CERN now looks likely to number crunch it's way to success, had they gone with the catchier " we won't know how God did it , but we'll know what he was thinking of ", they would have got the funding.

Misquoted anecdotes aside I like nr 10, twine theory, no need for 14 dimensions .......just twine.
