Probably good news - men aren't going to die out
Discussion
Well there's a twist for the books - overly dramatic science findings have been found to be (probably) wrong with regards to the male extinction theory.

the Y chromosome now has about 78 genes, compared with about 800 in the X chromosome.
So men are less complicated than women. Fact.3)

It's a very nice piece of work, showing that gene loss in the male-specific region of the Y chromosome proceeds rapidly at first - exponentially in fact - but then reaches a point at which purifying selection brings this process to a halt
Aw yeah, nice work Y chromosome 'The predictions were based on comparisons between the human X and Y sex chromosomes. While these chromosomes were once thought to be identical far back in the early history of mammals, the Y chromosome now has about 78 genes, compared with about 800 in the X chromosome.'
If my biology serves me correctly then a Y chromosome is about 3/4 of an X chromosome. Having genes in pairs is handy because if one mutates, there's another to take over. Indeed pairs of chromosomes are the whole point of sexual vs assexual reproduction - it gives you an advantage/allows you to evolve.
