Talking about all the videos of strange sounds around the world in the office today (loads of videos on YouTube, sounds like trumpets or the film War Of The Worlds).

Have a listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ2ZcmMxehk

So what do people think? Anyone heard anything?

Some say its aliens, some say its the earth crying. Could be there is going to be a mammoth earth quake or volcano eruption.

I personally havent heard anything, think it is a bit of a hoax, but at the same time I am enjoying reading all the barmy 'news' stories on it.

Wouldn't have thought a hoax as science, but hey ho. Who am I to argue with the powers that be.

Collection of viral videos probably made for some 2012-end-of-the-world disaster movie.

It's the Whales and Dolphins getting ready to leave for when the Pan-Galactic highway gets built.

Many of the locations for the deep, WOTW-type noise seem to be heavily wooded, just wondering if it's some moose-like creature in the rutting season and the trees are having some sort of amplifying effect.

There does seem to be quite a lot of them on YT, if it is a hoax, then a lot of people are getting on the band wagon.

I've heard of the 'bloop' before, and it's similar noises, they think its something along the lines of tectonic shifts, or other movements deep underground, and if its under the sea, the noise reverberates over huge distances.

The noises in the YT clips sound very metallic in nature, I'd have thought something coming from the ground would have been a low frequency.

Quite spooky though!

Youtube is not exactly the repository of all scientific testing and learning. What it can do is allow the google experts to "prove" their point or ask a question that borders on the stupid scale of 10 at 12, and that others will pick up and run with.

Maybe it is right. All we have to do is follow the trail of supplied evidence off youtube and google that will of course be first hand and original copies and verifiable.

The bloop was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. As well as the wow signal.
