hands up if you're a scientist

Qualified, but unless you count working as a research assistant between graduation and PhD, never practised. I got a job in IT development while I wrote up my thesis, and by the time I was finished I had a good, well paid job I liked and a mortgage. I was an aquatic biologist, PhD was in an obscure bit of fish ecophysiology.

I am a PhD student currently in the last couple of months of writing my thesis. I am looking at the evolution of some groups of fossil plants by making 3D computer models of them and comparing fossil and living specimen morphology.
Before I went back to Uni I had a stint in the real.world which I didn't like much. I was a GCMS analyst.

BSc in Geology from Birmingham, but I haven't done much with it apart from spend more time than normal looking for fossils.
Small world, I did my degree at Birmingham and doing my PhD there too.hairykrishna said:
