Hello Belgium and merry christmas to you all,

Wife and i are coming to Bruges for New year again and are around for a few days after, couple of things i need to know.

1, are there any restrictions/ hold ups on the route from Calais? I have rumours of delays on the motorway network at border crossings following the Paris attacks.

2, are there any car related events on new years day in the vicinity, Classic or otherwise?

regards Darren

There were border checks on the A16/E40 last month and they were causing quiet long delays, but not sure if they are still there.

I don't know of anything going on car related in the area at this time of year. Enjoy yourselves in Bruges.

As others have already said, no probs on the way to Bruges. Was that your XJC at Goodwood SS?

I'm not far (15 mins) from Bruges. Could show you some nice roads if you're up for a run. PM me if you're interested smile

Hello Sunbeam,

was indeed my XJC, though i dont trust that to get us to Bruges. Slum it across in the XKR instead. We're over on NYE with another couple and gonna hit the town square for food and drinks, probably ice skating at midnight in some merry state, no doubt. The other couple are away on NYD and we plan on staying over again then visiting Ypres on the saturday/sunday. Any tips on driving/routes and things to do will be appreciated. i will PM you with my contact no,

cheers
Darren
