TVR or no TVR,why buy one???
Discussion
I decided I needed a toy after years of career chasing, fairly open as to car, but fancied a character, smile inducing car, really fancied a V8. Initial thought was to drop a crate V8 engine into a P1800 (I like it's iconic styling )- but that's not "encouraged" by the Belgium government ; wasn't better when we didn't have a government for 18 months ?!?!
The choice eventually came down TVR or an MGB RV8, and my wife preferred the Chimaera and who am I to argue with her excellent taste, the TVR is even more ideosynchratic than the MGB which as a Brit apeals to me immensely, and importantly the Belgian club was very welcoming, which was very important to us, in a very short time I have found TVR owners to be really helpful and friendly with help coming from the Belgian club and the Hampshire TVR club (Classic LeMans)
I look forward to enjoying my car and continuing to making many new, slightly crazy friends, in Belgium and beyond,

Why did any off you ever consider to buy or to buy a TVR,just wondering for the answers?
I watched the movie Swordfish. When I saw John's character arriving at the disco, I went "WOW, that is a beast of a car".Came home, looked at what "W998 AFR" was, and... forgot about it because I couldn't really afford one at the time (I just bought a Lotus Elise a few months before).
Beginning of September 2006, after getting rid of the Elise, I looked at PH Tuscan adverts, and found said movie car for sale. Checked with the owner, and two days later it was on the back of a trailer towards Belgium...
For me, there is nothing else like it for the price. I've had 4 over the last 20 years and although I've tried to cure myself of my addiction, I always end up buying another.
Owning one is an adventure. Driving one, even slowly is always an event. Mine is currently off the road, but I still enjoy looking at it, sitting in it and hearing the V8.
