Help with immobiliser!
Discussion
Hi folks,
Having a weird issue with my 05 WRX's immobiliser.
Someone pulled infront of me as I was going through a green and i have so hopefully not too bad damage to my 2 front panels.
I need to get it to garage but I can't start it as my only key has stopped working (very old and need a new one) and it's not accepting the immobiliser code.
Key in, turned fully, enter code that I have used previously many times just fine...but it doesn't nothing now!
So now I'm stuck and have had to take the battery out to stop the alarm.
What on earth do I do?

AFAIK The alarm works on 2 circuits, the immobiliser unit itself which the code can be entered into on the keypad in an emergency (this is the one which you use to program a new fob) and also a chip inside the key which is passively read / detected by a module in or near to the steering column.
Some sources say that turning the key in the ignition 3/4/5 times (not as afar as ACC) will stop the alarm, whether this bypasses the immobiliser module I’m not sure.
This might help, an old post from scoobynet, although it is about keys, there are links off it giving info on the alarm system.
