Just acquired a 2003 GX auto (runout model? with lots of toys - for a Subaru!)) With ~50k miles, one family owner, one garage doing MOT/service....after 150 miles it is running better! Lost the brake judder & pick up is better.Only one niggle...on full lock at low speed there is a judder/ grumble from the steering. Not every time.....any ideas?
check the hose into the top of the ps pump has not gone hard and therefore leaking , top of the ps pump where the hose goes in is a small rubber seal that can go hard with time and leak , but first thing would be change the fluid see if it helps , if not other options as above worth a go , to change the fluid suck the old fluid out of the reservoir with a syringe , top it up , do a few locks to lock with engine on , then re suck the fluid out of the reservoir again and re fill , hopefully job done
Thanks...problem seems to have disappeared....possibly because the car is being used!
In for cam belt change and front discs & pads all round,plus some arb bushes/links. Going better and better.I look forward to winding it up a bit when the belts are done!
