Subaru Legacy GT S Pack - a good buy?
Discussion
They are good value for sure - for some reason the BR9's seem to be better value than the older shape - perhaps due to worries with the head gasket on the 2.5 engine? There are a few examples on eBay and Autotrader up for £11k+ - but have been up for ages. I would trust someone like Torque GT more tbh.
People seem to prefer the looks of the 4th gen Legacy [myself included] hence them being more popular than the 5th gen...but I'm really coming round to the 5th gen and could see myself getting one in the future, due it them being newer cars [obviously].
The one at TGT looked very nice.
There is loads of info online about the 2.5. I owned an SG9 Forster STi was the same engine which was trouble free for the 2.5 years I owned it [and for the owners before me]. Not sure if I'd be pushing my luck owning another car with the same engine again though?!
Another Subaru I'd be interested in is the SH Forester, but not sure what performance versions they did of these.

The problem with the Gen5 isn't just looks imho, they were much more plasticky and not quite as characterful, things like losing the frameless doors, much more plastic underneath etc.
Had a Gen5 Outback for 80k miles - it needed the HGs doing at 120k, after that it was absolutely spot on, cost buttons to run for maintenance and still drove brilliantly when we sold it at 170k miles.

Hi guys,
New to Subaru. Wanting something fun and usable all year round. I notice that Torque GT have a Legacy GT S Pack at the moment.
Is there anything I should be wary of with a car like this?

Looks are subjective but I like the look. Far more grown up than the 4th gen. 2.5 Engine issues were sorted by the time this car came out I believe. Feels fairly special owning one as they're so rare over here.
There is one on eBay for 7.5k I've just seen.
