Source for 3rd generation Outback rear struts
Discussion
I have a rear strut failure on my 2007 Outback which was a surprise as its only got 70k and gets gentle use.
I understand tney may be load levelling on this year/model but I'm not sure how to tell. I've had Nivomats on Volvos but they don't look like those.
Checking Ebay etc it seems aftermarket struts are freely and cheaply available for 4th gen, not so for mine. I have not yet enquired of dealer prices but am assuming its arm/leg time. On the other hand I'm reluctant to fit used parts, all such ones on ebay look rusty enough to pop tomorrow.
Does anyone have a source for new struts other than dealer items?

The Nivomat self levellers look like this:
Pedders do a non self levelling conversion, reasonable price, and they work well.
