Just looking at Impreza at the 5k mark seems that most cars for sale have multiple owners at least 5 plus some with 10 ?

Is this normal or just happening at the Lower end of the market where “problem cars” get passed on quickly
Or is it a reflection of ownership costs and the experience of keeping a high maintenance car in good condition

What is the ownership proposition like as a daily driver, short journeys, coming from a lightly modified r53 mini
Around 200hp

15+ years old and they have been cheap for the last 10 years. So lots of owners have them for a coupe of years to scratch their Scooby itch.

Easy to work on and reliable if maintained property. Expensive if you have to pay someone else to do the work. Stock ones uninspiring. 28mpg mixing driving. Great all weather, all road daily if set up properly.

Constant 4wd and the type of car you use the way it was intended leads to eye watering fuel bills, anything after 2006 with a turbo gets the £500 ved kicker.

General servicing is simple but required more often than many other cars, cambelt and spark plug changes not easy and a chg leak is big big job, clutch doable diy but the transmission is heavier than you might imagine, maker only parts are scandalously priced.
Indy specialists thin on the ground.
Forester XT's tend to longer term ownership cos not sporty image except for STi.
