SUBARU ENGINE NUMBERS

Just had a 2016 GT86 delivered and Im a bit suspicious the engine is not the original. Checked online but nothing relevant to search. Im assuming the engine should have the updated FA20 with the red aluminium intake, since it is the updated model. Mine has the plastic one. Bought the car online from a Subaru dealer Dales Automotive. I have engine and chassis numbers. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Did they not move to the red intake (aluminum) for the 2017 model onwards? Yours could be a 2015 model registered in 2016.

My car was registered late 2016. I thought that updated engine package was part of the changes. Mine is definitely that model.
