I’ve had my FSTi for a couple of years now and I still don’t know what this switch on the centre armrest does. I even asked Darren at Torque GT when I bought it and he couldn’t tell me.

I assumed it would be for cooling the compartment under the armrest but it doesn’t seem to make any difference whether it is “on” or “off” so, I thought I would ask the PH collective:

Am I right and it’s just not working or does it perform some more arcane task...?

Does it have a water-injection system?

I don't know anything about Subarus but I have a 1990's Alfa 155 Q4 which has water injecton - it cools the air in the intercooler - and the switch looks a bit like that.

P.S. Mine doesn't work... frown

Auto Pilot? What happens if you switch it on and retire to the back seat?

Real answer: It is some sort of air purifier thing, no idea how it works.

sunbeam alpine. - no, it doesn’t have water injection. One of my old Imprezas did and the button was by the right knee and labelled “ic spray” or similar. Good shout though.

RedWhiteMonkey - have to admit that I haven’t tried the back-seat autopilot thing (maybe why I’m still here, writing this...smile ) but the air purifier thing is intriguing. Assume you have come across this before(?). Guess it would explain the “A/P” lettering if it doesn’t stand for Auto Pilot.

Anybody know anything more?

Aaahh! Thanks Ziggy. I’ll have a look to see if I can locate the filter (although I expect replacements won’t be available over here).
