Cobra immobilizer Removal
Discussion
hey guys im new to the forum and needing help!!! i have a 1994 JDM STI that i bought off a buddy knowing it didnt run because of this immobilizer now im looking to remove it and just looking for some help where to start or if anyone has knowledge about this one in particular. Please help
Didn't clock the date of this I'll leave it posted anyways hope you've already sorted it
I had one of these installed in my 1994/5 Legacy Twin Turbo
There was an alarm unit under the bonnet with two of those ultrasonic sensors mounted in the headliner
The alarm unit under the bonnet seemed to act like the brain had all the wires going to it
I following the OEM wires from the ignition barrel until I found a cut/ splice, I'd then look for the other end of the OEM wire cut the splice out and join the OEM wires back together until I had removed all the Cobra wires
If I had a wiring diagram It would've been a lot easier but it was fairly easy to spot the poor workman ship of the Cobra install
It's a case of taking your time and making sure you don't end up taking any of the OEM stuff out think it's aftermarket
There's a couple of youtube videos that show people bypassing a single relay to remove them but the one I had wasn't that simple
