Biggest brakes under standard 16" forester wheels
Discussion
Hi, as above I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on my 2004 forester XT.
I'm not interested in changing the wheels for anything bigger, I know this limits my options. They are the 5 spoke standard "star" style:
I understand the standard front discs are 294mm with a 2 piston Tokico caliper. The rears are 266mm.
I have tried to trundle through various posts on various forums but I'm still lost.
Would 304mm X 28mm 2 piece rotors with 4pot AP racing CP5200 calipers fit under 16" wheels, and of that design? I think the wheels have a 48mm offset.
Thanks

Would it not be better and cheaper to experiment with better pads , i put some 40£ pagid ones on brembo callipers from eurocarparts what a difference they made plus way cheaper then ebc red stuff , it can be an expensive route doing callipers plus restricted by your wheel size , i assume you have the standard subaru 4 pot front 2 pot rears
As above , try the 40£ or so pads from eurocarparts they are very good , richard at fb tuning pointed me that way , so much better then the red stuff i had before , i have a pair of fsti one has a smaller servo , brakes are ok with the brembo callipers , the newer shape fsti has a bigger servo it’s like night and day but to mod and change servos or brakes in my book it’s not worth it just try pads first , the standard subaru brakes as in 4 pot 2 pot with good pads work well , my jdm sti wagon with the standard subaru 4 pots was as good as the brembos on the fsti
