Start procedure after year off the road
Discussion
Hi folks,
I have a kit car fitted with an STi v4 engine. Due to other projects the car hasn’t run for over a year. Have couple of small jobs to do then will be getting it MOTed again. Just wanted to check if there’s any specific procedure required the first engine start-up after the long lay-up.
Normally on a non turbo engine, I would check the fluids and plugs, Manually turn it over a few times and then start it up and check oil pressure etc. Is this sufficient?
