Is 10years good going for a Subaru OEM exhaust or poor?

Our Legacy exhaust was bodged for the MOT at 9 years old, and about 125000 miles. The car is now 10 years old and we're going to replace the exhaust with an aftermarket one, as the OEM ones cost more than the car is worth.

I know! Ours is literally rotten through. Makes me wonder if Subaru UK undersealed the car too. Or too high an expectation on the life of an exhaust..

Mine got to 12 years & rear boxes & Y section were clapped out. I fitted one of these:

No problems with fitting & quality really didn`t seem too bad. Been on a year & holding up OK. Having the fitting kit included was very handy. How they produce it & ship from `Germany` for that price I don`t know.

Do they corrode anywhere other than the UK? Might be something you put on your roads that does it.

My Legacy is 16 years old and the original exhaust isn't showing anything except a bit of gravelrash.

The uk variable ?? lol weather helps exhaust and cars to rot which is a big shame , exhaust wise mine lasted about 2 weeks as i upgraded to something better , on a serious note uk exhaust life is normally around 7 to 10 years , short journeys kill it quicker as the moisture stays in them rather than burns off , and our climate
