Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advice from those who have been on the Impreza 'scene' for a while.

I currently have a MY05 PPP Impreza Wagon, and I'm wondering what the price trends for this car are likely to be. I love the car, but will be looking to upgrade to something else at some point in the next couple of years, be it an Impreza or something completely different.

My question is, will holding onto this car for a couple of years mean that prices will hit rock bottom and I'll have to sell at these prices (i.e. I'm better off either selling now or holding the car even longer). What would you guys value this car at currently, and where do you see the prices going? (See images below)

It also needs to be considered that I have put 4 new tyres and a clutch on this car very recently (~£1000).

112k miles
Prodrive Performance Pack
Interior in excellent condition
Paintwork in great condition aside from a few scratches here and there.
Mechanically perfect in terms of engine running and driving. (Engine had a rebuild 30k miles ago)

As a note, I understand its not all about the money as long as you enjoy your car! I am just interested in getting some opinions on this topic. This car was purchased in 2017 for £3500 at 100k miles.

Cheers!

It's a 13 year old motor with over 100k miles. It is in the area of if someone wants it and is prepared to spend money on an old 100k miles or so car with expensiveish road tax and nice performace.

Car looks clean but will be starting to rust somewhere.

I would not get that excited about resale price at that level, you will get what you will get for the car and the appearance of rust or not will be the issue over the next year or so.

We have a green one, WRX 5 door, not PPP. Had it from new - 2004. Looks more 'used' than yours & mileage at 170k. Starting to think again about changing it - we've been here a few times before though, so assuming we'll still be running around in it in a years time, as never find an interesting & worthwhile replacement. As for value, I see very little value in ours, to the extent I'd exclude it from the budget for a replacement car. It's 14 years old, lots (though possibly average?) miles, a few scratches & car park dings, road tax at £315, not quick by modern car standards, not economical, not a lot going for it to be honest, unless you're a die-hard Subaru fan. I think the market would be very limited. I could be wrong....

I’ve got a 2005 WRX with 55k on the clock,FSH and I’m the only owner. Had new tyres fitted last year and overall is very clean. It’s been chipped to 258 bhp and had new rims but tbh I’ve no intention of selling. I was offered £6k last year and turned it down

Low mileage & 1 owner makes a big difference. That would sell easily, as it stands out from the majority. But I think the price someone would be prepared to pay would vary considerably from one person to the next. Looks great.

There's probably going to be a certain level of interest longer term in Turbo Estates as Subaru haven't been making newer equivalents (in the UK) for quite some time.

As suggested in the rest of this thread, the running costs/taxes are going to be the biggest expense rather than any depreciation.

You should get the money you paid back, it's not going to appreciate or depreciate notably unless it rusts.
