Hello,

Forgive me if I've missed the thread but can anyone confirm if the afflictions for the 2.5 are confined to the STi's and the lower tuned WRX's are broadly ok?
I seem to find alot of threads with people talking about their STi falling to bits but nothing on the WRX's.

If I sell the Skyline my budget could cover JDM WRX (with the 2.0) would it better to go for that than anything from the UK Market? I might be able to get a WRX-S.

Thanks

can be fragile on both the wrx and sti , forged is a good route to go , or buy a newer sti jdm with a 2 litre , i have gone forged on both my fsti 2.5 litre lumps and never looked back , a lot of torque in the 2.5 , drives very differently to the 2 litre

Design flaws are across all models. Sti runs more boost and has different mapping, so failure rates are higher.

Pick a pre 2006 car and they are all 2.0s - you don't need to pay a premium for a JDM.

Thanks chaps, shame as I quite liked the look of the hatches and the price I'd get for the Skyline wouldn't cover a forged one frown

Buy a stock hatch then and put money in the bank each month for bork fund.
