I have a 2016 Australian spec Outback which I have owned from new and will be bringing with me when I move back to the UK later this year.

In order to get UK registered it needs a rear fog light. I know I could get an auto-electrician to wire something in from scratch but I want to make this as standard a fit as possible.

Unfortunately Subaru Australia have been no help and my two local dealers refuse to get involved as they have said that they are only allowed to fit AUS spec parts.

Subaru UK and my local UK dealer have been a bit more helpful in providing some info relating to the UK spec cars but they can't do much more without knowing what the AUS spec is and, as above, Subaru Australia won't release this information.

There are five bits that I need to sort out - lamp, switches, tell-tale light, relays and wiring.

1 - The physical lamp unit itself is easy as there is a dummy one in place on my car so I can just swap them over.
2 - The AUS spec column switches only have two settings for fog lights - Off : Front. However, the harness plug to the column switches does have the rear fog light wire attached to the loom so I should just need to swap the column stalks for the UK spec ones that have three settings on the switch - Off : Front : Front and Rear.
3 - The dashboard does have a front fog icon and, given that the rest of the wiring and fittings appear to be in place, I'm taking a bit of a punt that the LED board is standard and it does have the tell-tale fitted.
4 - Obviously I haven't got a rear fog relay and my manual doesn't tell me where the UK spec one would be. Can anyone with a UK spec car tell me where their rear fog relay is located so that I can check that the wiring etc is all in place there on my car?
5 - Subaru UK have given me the diagram showing where the short harness for the rear fog plugs into the main loom. However, it's behind the speaker that's in the boot behind the right hand side boot liner panel and I can't work out how to take this off to check if the plug is there on my car. Does anyone know how to do this? I can get the bottom and rear of it loose but not the top bit around where the lever for the remote seat release is.

Any help here will be much appreciated as I've been going round in circles with Subaru for 2 months now. I've tried asking on OUtback.org but that seems very USA focused and they don't have rear fogs either.

TL/DR - Please can someone tell me where the rear fog light relay is and how to remove the RHS boot liner panel on a 2015 onwards Outback.
