rolling road Dccd position for V4 sti type r
Discussion
As above for some first time power runs for the car.Do about a dozen trackdays a year, would like to know where dccd gearbox position should be put for best results, but safe.It is a 4wd RR.After 4 read outs.1-Exhaust Bung in,2-Exhaust Bung out,3-2nd map(twin map) and antilag on,4-75 shot of noz..Cheers
A V4 sti Type R ( circa 1998) doesn't have an auto setting unless the much later models Sti transmission and electronics have been retrofitted. It's just a manually variable lock up diff from 67R: 33F in the open (green lights ) position.
I run my similar model with the diff locked, i.e. with the diff lights in the red, on the rolling road, but your dyno operator should be able to confirm that for you.

Evening,The result are in.The point for the stats are,its not been on one(I bought it in 10,7,13),have done 15 to 20 trackdays with it,interested as thinking of selling and how restrictive/beneficial mods are.
engine power wheel power torque
As standed/bung in 255bhp 188bhp 200lbf.ft
As standed/bung out 284bhp 214bhp 207lbf.ft
Switched to 2nd map/anti-lag/bung out 287bhp 221bhp 225lbf.ft
2nd map/antilag/75 shot of NOZbung out 282bhp 217bhp 222lbf.ft
Conclusions for me
Bung needs to removed permanently on trackdays,so will be purchasing some s/steel exhaust silencers.(have 3" straight through de-cat.
2nd map works, not much bhp,but bumps up the torque.
Nitros doesn't look like its working properly,it boosts between 3500rpm/5000rpm,but I think maybe there was a loss of rear tyre grip.
Going to Cadwell on 27th and then Blyton on 28th Jan,so will be addressing these issues before I go.Maybe as pointed out I should have put it in full
lock.Thanks for all interest/advice

Evening,a bung either fits inside or over the tailpipe, held by a couple of nuts and bolts,to cancel some of the noise the car will make,if it is likely to break a race track/ airfields maximum noise(decibel/do)reading for trackdays.Someone may correct me,but that's the best I can do.
